Sachin Yadav had promised to not let the conditions or opponents affect him and while he took time to get into his rhythm, the young javelin thrower made good on his promise with a personal best of 85.16m to win a silver in his maiden international outing behind Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem on the final day of the 26th Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea, on Saturday. India concluded the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships with its best-ever performance on foreign soil in 40 years, securing a total of 24 medals, including 8 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze. This achievement places them second in the overall medal table, with China topping the standings. The championships took place in Gumi, Republic of Korea, from May 27 to 31. Over 60 Indian athletes participated in the event.
